Experience

The Lovves are a band fronted by performing and recording artists Nathalie Janette & AJ Rose. With over 20 years of music performance and songwriting experience, AJ Rose is featured as a vocalist, rhythm guitar player, and songwriter. Nathalie Janette also has over 20 years of experience in music performance and classically trained singing, and over 10 years of experience as a recording artist. Nathalie is featured as a vocalist, cajon/percussionist, acoustic guitarist, keyboardist, and songwriter. Nathalie and AJ play as an acoustic duo as well as a full band with drummer Tony Souza and bassist Patrick Hogencamp. 

Nathalie & AJ met in 2020 where their love for music instantly bonded them and led to the inception of a new lifelong journey of love and songwriting. The two started performing live towards the end of 2021 after moving to South Georgia; shortly after they named themselves The Lovves and began performing as such. The Lovves play original pop rock and alternative inspired music, as well as a wide array of hits from the past 50 decades, primarily in pop rock and alternative genres from the 90s. 

The Lovves are the winners of five 2023 Albany Herald Reader’s Choice Awards, voted by their local community as the Best Female Vocalist, Best Songwriter, Best Musician, Best Local Band, and Best Cover Band in southwest Georgia. 

Their Music

Nathalie’s vocals range from a golden passionate “rock” belt to angelic falsetto harmonies, while AJ’s vocals bring a bright and seductive sweet texture to the mix, ranging from powerful to light and airy. Their original music includes notes of folk rock, pop rock, alternative, and even some blues, to create an almost vintage or nostalgic tone of pop rock and alternative music of the past. The two have previously been compared to Alanis Morisette, Mazzy Star, Tori Amos, Jewel, Sheryl Crow & other female fronted rock acts of the 90s. The Lovves embody the meaning of female power and talent on stage, and can truly appeal to all different types of music lovers. 

Their music is at times both engagingly heavy but also soft and intimate, representing their versatility and love for all musical styles. The Lovves released their debut album XII.V.MMXX on December 5, 2022 to commemorate their 2 year wedding anniversary; the album is a collection of the earliest love songs they wrote and composed together. They released their second album, Vintage Gone Viral on March 16, 2023, which is a collection of more up tempo alternative rock music with a vintage feel. They also produced and released a deluxe version of Vintage Gone Viral on April 26, 2023 which contains clean versions and radio edits of several of the songs as well as deluxe versions of the original 13 songs from the album. The deluxe versions contain more modern rock drums and upfront vocals. On July 21, 2023 they released a 3 song EP called Summer Lovve that encompasses their live acoustic sound with a beachy summer twist, featuring A.J. on a baritone ukulele, Nathalie on the cajon, and their original bass player Tracy Hunter on an acoustic bass. They released their EP Unbroken on October 20, 2023 featuring 6 new songs in their signature pop-rock sound heard on Vintage Gone Viral (Deluxe). 

After taking a year long break from recording, on October 31, 2024 they released the single Your Secret’s Mine Now which features a musical sample of frogs native to Albany, GA that they heard behind a friend’s apartment one night. The song, featuring a dark and heavy theme of infidelity was released in celebration of Halloween. They released this song after moving to Virginia Beach, VA as a way to always remember the roots of their musical career. The duo quickly resumed recording after moving to Virginia and released their 5 song rock EP I Am The Sun in their signature style on May 16, 2025. They most recently released their single “Lonely” on October 24, 2025.
